The ProGroup Solution
We knew artificial grass was the perfect solution to eliminate the mud and mess while keeping the yard looking lush and green all year round. Here’s how we made it happen:
Ground Preparation:
We started by removing all the existing patchy grass and topsoil, digging down to a depth of about 70mm to get rid of any organic matter that could cause future growth. To prevent weeds from popping through, we laid a geotech membrane across the entire area. We then backfilled the space with gap 7 aggregate (a mix of gravel and sand) and compacted it to create a solid, level base.
Artificial Grass Installation:
We chose a high-quality, UV-stabilised artificial grass that looked just like the real thing but without the hassle of mowing or watering. It was custom-cut to fit the yard perfectly, ensuring a seamless, natural look. The grass was secured using stainless steel U-shaped staples every 300mm around the perimeter to keep it in place, no matter how much running or playing it had to handle.
Finishing Touches and Grooming:
We added silica sand infill to help the fibres stand upright, giving them a lush, natural appearance. A motorised grooming broom was used to brush up the fibres, ensuring the grass looked vibrant and ready for action.
