Many council authorities are now demanding that individual properties maintain a supply of fresh water for emergency events. Storage of at least 3 litres per person per day is recommended by Civil Defence for basic drinking and personal hygiene.
In this typical installation, our simple 200L tank connect directly to a convenient downpipe with a clever divertor. Once full the excess water flows back into the downpipe, making this a no maintenance system.
The tank itself is made from food grade plastic, and a few drops of household bleach will make the water safe to drink in an emergency. The 200L will provide a family of four with two weeks of emergency water.
