Artificial Grass in Auckland

As its name suggests, artificial grass is a synthetic alternative to natural turf. It can offer a low-maintenance option for homeowners and businesses looking for a well-manicured lawn without the constant upkeep of watering, mowing, and fertilising.

When it comes to finding the best artificial grass in Auckland, look no further than Pro Group NZ. With years of experience in the industry, our team knows exactly how to provide top-notch installation and maintenance services. Plus, we use only high-quality materials that are durable and designed to withstand New Zealand’s (sometimes unpredictable) climate.

The Benefits of Artificial Grass: Auckland

Some of the main benefits of having artificial grass include decreased water usage, low maintenance, and improved safety.

Installing artificial grass at home can save money on watering and lawn care costs. Businesses can also save on water bills and upkeep costs.

In playgrounds, artificial grass provides a consistently even surface that reduces the risk of injury. It also holds up well against heavy use and various weather conditions.  Overall, artificial grass offers a practical and cost-effective solution for both residential and commercial spaces.

Where to Install Artificial Grass

One of the most popular places to install artificial grass is in the backyard. This not only adds a touch of greenery to your outdoor space, but it also eliminates the need for regular maintenance such as mowing and watering.

Another common area for artificial grass installation is on rooftops or balconies. This can create a green oasis in otherwise limited outdoor space, allowing homeowners to enjoy the benefits of having a lawn without sacrificing square footage.

Artificial grass can also be used as an alternative to traditional carpeting in indoor spaces, such as game rooms or children’s playrooms. Not only does it add a splash of colour and texture, but it also provides cushioned support for activities like crawling or playing on the ground.

Overall, the options for installing artificial grass are endless – get creative and see how it can enhance your home’s landscape!

Auckland

Auckland, known as the “City of Sails,” is situated on a narrow strip of land between two harbours and has a population of approximately 1.5 million people. The central city area is home to the bustling financial and retail district, while Ponsonby and Parnell offer trendy cafes and boutiques. On the North Shore, you’ll find more residential areas with beautiful beaches and views of the harbour. West Auckland, including suburbs like Titirangi and Henderson, have a more laid-back atmosphere with outdoor activities like hiking and surfing readily available.

FAQ

  • Are your specialists qualified?

    Great question.

Most of the services The ProGroup offer require no formal qualifications, but every franchisee goes through full training in the services they provide. Ongoing experience and a fantastic support network within the group mean that each of our team are true specialists at what they do.

Some of our team also offer services outside of the core ProGroup range, and some of them do require certification or specialist qualifications. In that situation they will have the relevant recognised quals. For example we have LBP builders, plumbers, stonemasons, and gasfitters within the team.

  • What are your payment terms?

These vary depending on the service.

Typically lower value work requires full payment on completion. Product heavy work may require a deposit at time of quote acceptance, while longer term projects may require an initial deposit and progress payments along the way.

The terms of your particular situation will be discussed at time of the quote so there will be no hidden surprises.

  • Who will come and do the work?

Our specialists are all independently owned franchisees who live in your local community. Most are sole operators, who will quote the job and do the work themselves, while others may have an employee or two to help with the workload. Either way, everyone is well trained in the services they offer.

You can expect prompt, courteous, knowledgeable trades people to help with your enquiries. And all live and work within your local area.

  • Is artificial grass covered by my home and contents insurance?

Definitely check with you insurer. You may need to advise them that you have artificial grass so it can be listed specifically on your insurance policy. Often insurance policies have a generic limit on "landscaping", which may not be enough to cover the full cost of replacement (including the labour) in the case of say a flood.

Just like listing specific high value jewelry items on a contents policy, talk to your insurer about artificial grass.

  • What does artificial grass cost?

There is no easy answer to this. The biggest cost of an artificial grass installation is the preparation of the sub-surface. This usually involves the removal of the existing turf and topsoil, and installation of a compacted base course to provide a flat and stable surface for the grass to be laid on. Often some sort of retaining is required to stop the sub-surface from subsiding. As you can imagine this is labour intensive. Every site is different but our specialists can talk you through what is required for your unique situation, which will dictate the overall cost.

  • Does the artificial grass come with a warranty?

Yes, our grasses come with a 7-year manufacturer warranty, subject to correct maintenance procedures! It is essential that annual maintenance is done to ensure the grass is kept in tip top condition.

  • Will the artificial grass have joins?

This depends on the size and shape of your site. The rolls of grass come in 2m and 4m wide widths. Any joins are made to be as unobtrusive as possible.

  • What happens where the artificial grass meets a pathway or garden?

Each job is different, but often a timber border is installed along pathways to attach the grass, and long staples are used to anchor the grass along gardens, etc. Your GrassPro specialist will talk you through exactly how the fake grass will be installed.

  • Is artificial grass children and pet friendly?

Absolutely. Our artificial grasses contain no nasty chemicals or heavy metals. It is important to ensure that any pet droppings are picked up on a regular basis, and regular hosing down of the areas that business is done to minimise any lingering odours.

  • Will GrassPro do all the site preparation?

If that is what you want. Your GrassPro specialist will talk you through the requirements and the cost associated with preparing the area and you can decide whether GrassPro does the entire job, or whether you can do some of the prep work yourself to save some costs.

  • Will weeds grow in my artificial grass?

Weeds are not able to grow through artificial lawns, due to the fact that all organic matter is removed from the surface and a geotextile membrane installed before the grass is laid. However, it is common for wind-blown and bird-dropped seeds to land on the synthetic grass which may then sprout in the infill sand. These weeds are easily plucked out as they are just sitting on the surface. Weed sprays can be used to control this.

  • Do you offer finance terms for your services?

Yes - we offer a “Buy Now, Pay Later” option through our partners at Latitude Financial (Gem Visa). We offer interest free payment terms of 6 or 12 months (some fees, terms and conditions apply).
