Climate change seems to be resulting in more pressure being put on the national and regional water reservoirs. Each year at least one region in New Zealand will be struck by enforced water restrictions or even a full ban on non-essential use of town water. Gardens and lawns suffer, you cannot wash your car, businesses reliant on water are unable to operate.
You can take back control by collecting your own water for use in these situations. The larger the capacity you can collect, the greater supply you will have between rainfall. For every 1mm of rainfall, each 1sqm of roof surface will collect 1 litre of water. Why let that rainfall wash away into stormwater drains when you could be capturing it for your own use?
