In a secluded corner of Massey, this property featured a leafy, tropical feeling garden with a timber deck. A perfect spot for entertaining. Well almost perfect. Auckland’s inclement weather sees almost daily showers, and the deck was under utilised for that reason.
How could this space be made better for all weather entertaining?
Our solution – a motorised louvred roof pergola giving the ability to have a closed roof when it rains, but the flexibility to allow light and sun when the weather is fine.
The deck required some additional strengthening, and a concrete pad added in one corner to hold one post. This custom structure required additional interim posts to allow for motorised roller blinds that would not impede access to set of stairs.
In all a perfect solution that allows outdoor entertaining in all weather.
Our entertaining homeowner no longer has to reschedule events due to the weather. An added pizza oven, some outdoor speakers, and a planned projector to beam movies onto one of the roller blinds makes this space a year round winning space.
